After the poor season with Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020, It was clear that Glenn Maxwell will be released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2021 season. Now Glenn Maxwell once again has come in the IPL auction. Kings XI Punjab had failed to qualify for the next round for the sixth consecutive season.

kings XI Punjab had bought him for a mega price of Rs 10.75 crore and only managed 108 runs off 106 balls. He took 3 wickets in his 21 overs. Despite his poor season, He is expected to get a huge amount in IPL 2021 auction. Now, In IPL 2021 mini auction, Probably these 3 IPL teams might want to sign Maxwell for IPL 2021 season.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings have no hard hitter batsman in the middle order who can score quickly and consistently. Low strike rate was one of the major issue of CSK in IPL 2020. So, CSK need a aggressive batsman for the middle order and Maxwell will be perfect for CSK. Despite his poor performance, CSK is expected to bid for him in IPL 2021 mini auction.

Soon after the end of IPL 2020, Glenn Maxwell performed well in the ODI and T20 series against India. He smashed 167 runs in three ODIs – at a strike-rate of 194.18 – and 78 runs off 52 balls in the T20I series. his form can’t be ignored and once again, Maxwell is expected to earn huge money.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

For the first time after 4 years, Royal Challengers Bangalore have released 10 players. RCB doesn’t have a proper allrounder in the middle order who can balance the team. Maxwell is one of the best options and RCB might bid for him.

England allrounder Moeen Ali was the great option for RCB but He has been released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2021.  In 2018 as well, RCB had bid for the Australian all-rounder and they might go behind him this year as well.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have released Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey and Jason Roy ahead of IPL 2021 season. DC’s middle order suffered a lot in the IPL 2020 and none of the players had performed consistently for the franchise. They have also lacked a firepower batsman towards the end.

DC had bought for Rs 9 crore in IPL 2018 auction. They might continue to bid for him in IPL 2021 mini auction, should their purse allow them.
