CSK ready to release 7-8 players:

IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had struggled a lot in IPL 2020. They were also criticized because of their players. Except for Faf Du Plessis and Sam Curran, no player of CSK performed in IPL 2020 consecutively. It was a big blunder in the team due to which CSK finished the IPL 2020 at 8th position.

Now, Chennai Super Kings needs to make necessary changes in the team and IPL 2021 mini-auction will be a great opportunity for them. But there is also a problem because of not have enough money in the wallet. CSK has just 15 lack left in the player purse and IPL Governing Council has already announced that the purse for IPL 2021 auctions will not be increased.

Now the CSK has only the option to release some players so that they can create a new team. As per reports of Insidesport, CSK will be releasing Kedhar Jadhav from the IPL contract and that will give them 7.8 Cr.

In a conversation with InsideSport, CSK management said, “Jadhav was not in best of form in IPL 2020. He was also struggling with his fitness. CSK will move on from Jadhav in IPL 2021, everyone in the team management feels that it will be prudent to take this hard call and invest in the future.’

According to the reports, the CSK camp is not only releasing Kedhar Jadhav but also 7-8 big players will be released by the CSK team before the Jan 21st deadline.

List of Chennai super kings players who might be released: 

1) Kedar Jadhav – 7.8 Cr
2) Imran Tahir – 1 Cr
3) Piyush Chawla – 6.75 Cr
4) Harbhajan Singh – 2 Cr
5) Murali Vijay – 2 Cr
6) Dwayne Bravo – 6.4 Cr (Subject to his fitness)
7) Josh Hazlewood 2.0 Cr
8) Karn Sharma 5 Cr

If these players are released by Chennai then there will be 33 crores in their purse and to do the shopping for new players in IPL 2021 auction. Chennai will have 4 crores in their hand which will come due to Shane Watson’s retirement.

Chennai Super Kings has also taken another big decision on Suresh Raina. CSK management is keenly watching Suresh Raina’s performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. After that, it will be decided he will be retained by Chennai or not in 11 crores.
