Former first-class cricketer Robin Morris who has played for Mumbai and Odisha in Ranji Trophy has been arrested by Versova police. He was allegedly running the betting rackets on the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The police have also arrested two other members taking bets on IPL matches.
44 years old Canada born Indian Robin Morris has played 42 matches in first-class and 51 List A games between 1995 and 2007.
According to the police, they received the information that a Betting racket is operating from Robin Morris’s flat at Yari Road (Andheri). Police took immediate action and caught him with 2 others at the location. The trio found accepting bets on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2020.
Police also found several mobiles and two tablet gadgets with cash worth Rs. 9000. The trio was arrested under provisions of the IPC gambling act.
