Glenn Maxwell is counted in the best attacking batsman in the cricket fraternity. But he didn’t show his magic with the bat in the IPL 2020. Glenn Maxwell just scored 108 runs off 106 balls he faced. After mid season, He started to bowl where he took only 3 wickets in 21 overs.

Glenn Maxwell didn’t perform in any match for Kings XI Punjab that turned to be big disappointment for him and his team. Despite his poor performance, He was just dropped in the final match of fixture.

Although, KXIP captain KL Rahul and Anil Kumble didn’t blame Maxwell for team’s poor form. But Virender Sehwag, former cricket director of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has commented on his bad performance in IPL 2020.

Glenn Maxwell replied to Virender Sehwag:

Recently, In a show, Viru ki Baithak, Sehwag had called Glenn Maxwell “10 crore cheerleader”. He said, Glenn Maxwell. “This 10 crore cheerleader proved very costly for Punjab. His IPL routine for the last few years has been of shirking from work but this season he broke that record as well. This is what you call a highly paid vacation.”

Now, Glenn Maxwell replied to Sehwad on his comment. Maxwell said, “It’s ok. Viru is pretty outspoken with his dislike of me, and that’s fine. He’s allowed to say whatever he likes. He’s in the media for such statements, so that’s fine. I deal with that and move on, and take it with a grain of salt with Sehwag.”

Let me tell you, Virender Sehwad and Glenn Maxwell has worked together at Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) from 2014 to 2017. Once Mawell was the captain of KXIP in IPL 2017 but KXIP had failed to qualify for playoffs. That time, Sehwag was lashed out to the foreign players and blamed them for team’s poor performance.

After IPL 2017, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) had released Maxwell and Sehwag had been the part of the team in IPL 2018 also. But once again Kings XI Punjab failed to qualify for playoffs.

Now, Sehwag is the not part of any cricket staff in IPL 2020 but he shares his views on various platforms.

Looking at Maxwell’s poor form, There is high chances that he is likely to be released ahead of IPL 2021 auction. This year, KXIP had bought him in 10 crore in IPL 2020 auction.
