3 quality CSK players might not play any match in UAE:

IPL 2020 is set to commence from Septemeber 19 in UAE. Chennai Super Kings has already started their pre-training camp in Chennai ahead of IPL 2020. CSK team will go to UAE on August 21. On the other side, CSK’s two legends Dhoni and Raina have announced their retirement from the international cricket on 15 August.

Chennai Super Kings 3 times IPL title winner as firm favorites like always. As we all know Dhoni is not known to tinker with his combinations too much. Most of the time, He plays with the same team because he believes in his players more than any captain in IPL.

Many quality T20 players of CSK squad have warmed the benches for the entire season over the years. Chris Morris, Samuel Badree, and Thisara Perera are one of them who didn’t play many matches for the side. It is quite possible the trend is set to continue in IPL 2020.

3 CSK Quality players who might be benched for the whole IPL:

#3 Josh Hazlewood

Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood is the high chance that he might not play any match for CSK in IPL 2020. Chennai Super Kings has bought him in 2 crores which were his base price in Auction.

Josh Hazlewood plays for Australia in Tests and sometimes in ODIs. He had played his last t20 match for Australia in 2016. His T20 record is not as good as a test or ODIs. Another reason is CSK has already South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. It means Hazlewood will be the second choice for the fast bowler.

Sam Curran is the third main reason that he doesn’t get the place in Final CSK playing XI. England Allrounder Sam Curran is also fast option bowler foR CSK who offers far more with the bat than either of the two, further complicates matters.

#2 Karn Sharma

Indian leg-spinner Karn Sharma is part of Chennai Super Kings since 2018. But he just played 7 matches for the CSK last year where he took only 5 wickets at an economy rate of 9.89. Due to turning tracks at Chepauk, He played 7 matches for CSK but UAE pitches are batting friendly.

Karn Sharma won the IPL title from the 3 consecutive seasons with three different teams starting in 2016. CSK has already two leg-spinner Imran Tahir and Piyush Chawla that he is the third-choice leggie, let alone spinner.

#1 Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner has got the limited opportunity in the CSK playing XI. Last time, He had played against Rajasthan Royals in the last season where he smashed Ben Stokes for a six on the last ball.

Mitchell Santner has played 4 matches for CSK With 4 wickets at an economy of 6.71.

Mitchell Santner’s skills are very similar to that of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s. CSK has also more quality foreign players than him that make him out from playing XI.

Shane Watson, Duplessis, Dwayne Bravo are the regular foreign players in CSK playing XI. The slot for the foreign player is vacant. The left-arm spinner will have to compete with the likes of Imran Tahir, Sam Curran and Lungi Ngidi for the final overseas slot at CSK
