Recently, Pakistani former cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar suggested an India vs Pakistan 3 ODIs Matches series in Dubai in order to raise funds for both the countries to fight against COVID-19.

According to Shoaib Akhtar, ‘India vs Pakistan Matches can be played in closed doors without any crowd. It will help a lot to both the countries to fight this world pandemic.’

But after listening to this proposal Indian former cricketer and WorldCup winning captain Kapil Dev could not stop himself and replied to Shoaib Akhtar.

“India has enough funds”, Kapil Dev:

Kapil Dev openly said, “India does not need funds which will risk our players. India has enough funds to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with that Indian Cricket Board(BCCI) has already donated 51Crore and can donate more in need.”

Kapil Dev suggested, ‘There should not be any cricket for at least 5-6 months because cricket is not bigger than the country.’ According to Kapil Dev, ‘Shoaib Akhtar can give his opinion but It will be the worst decision to organize cricket matches in this pandemic and risk our player’s life in danger.’

He is entitled to his opinion but we do not need to raise the money. We have enough. The situation is unlikely to get normal anytime soon. Organizing a cricket game means putting our cricketers at risk which we don’t need to, stated Kapil Dev.
