Marcus Stoinis and James Pattinson fined for personal comment on homosexuality:
On 4 January(Saturday) Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis creates controversy after giving an unbearable statement on homosexuality. The incident happened during a Big Bash League(BBL) match between “Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne stars”.
All-rounder Marcus Stoinis represents ‘Melbourne Stars’ sledged ‘Melbourne Renegades’ player Ken Richardson and for that Marcus Stoinis fined for 7500$ for this statement. Stoinis has to handle too much criticism for his gay comment.
Marcus Stoinis apologized:
After realizing that the controversy is becoming too big He apologized to Kane Richardson and that match umpire for his behavior.“I realized immediately that I was wrong and that I apologize to Kane and therefore the umpires. I did the wrong thing and I accept responsibility for my actions. The standards are there for a reason and that I accept the penalty.”, said Marcus Stoinis.
Six weeks before the same controversy:
Six weeks before this incident, the same statement was given by Australian Pacer James Pattinson during the “victoria Sheffield shield vs Queensland” match. Then James Pattinson apologized immediately to the Queensland batsman for his statement. For that gay comment, James Pattinson had been given a match suspension.
AFTER STOINIS, JAMES PATTINSON APOLOGIZED:
“I made a mistake in the heat of the moment. Straight away I realized I was wrong, and therefore I apologized immediately, both to the opponent and to the umpires.” , Pattinson added.
Australian Women cricketer Megan Schutt stood against homosexual comments:
Megen Schutt who is not afraid to show her personality in public. Even though Same-sex marriage has been a debatable issue all over the world. After that, she recently married her long time partner Jess Holyoake on March 31, 2019.
She does not care about what people will think about her. Megan Schutt can not let her shut after Marcus Stoinis and James Pattinson’s homosexual statements. She gives her statement after those controversies:
“It’s disappointing that we still use that language, and that I don’t believe that those boys are homophobic, I don’t. They wouldn’t be saying it thereupon intent, but they are still using the wrong words “, Megan Schutt added.
“And I said, ‘We can’t hide, this is a time to show support for everyone else around us’. No one who is trying to fight for same-sex marriage is having a good time right now so we need to stick together more than ever,” said Schutt.
