KKR player Pravin Tambe is not eligible to play in the IPL 2020 season

Kolkata Knight Riders'(KKR) trouble is not over here for the upcoming IPL 2020. Australian spinner Chris Green has banned before a week ago for three months due to his suspicious action.

Now this time, They have jerked off in the form of veteran spinner Pravin Tambe. Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) had bought him this year in the IPL 2020 auction. But unfortunately, 48 years Old, Pravin Tambe is not eligible to play in IPL 2020.

According to the Cricbuzz report, Pravin Tambe has violated the BCCI policies, by participating in the foreign leagues. Recently, He had featured in the T10 league which was played in Dubai and Sharjah.


Actually, BCCI doesn’t allow players to play in foreign leagues. If any player wants to play in the foreign league then, first of all, he will have to take retirement from all the forms of Cricket.

Pravin Tambe did the same mistake. He went to play in the T10 league without officially announcing his retirement. The new IPL chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to Cricbuzz about his ineligibility for the upcoming IPL season.


48 years old, Pravin Tambe was the oldest player in the IPL 2020 auction. Kolkata Knight Riders had bought him at the base price of INR 20 lakh for the upcoming IPL season. Pravin Tambe has already played in the IPL seasons for three different franchises. He has played for Rajasthan Royals in 2013 and 2014. Then he played for Gujrat Lions in 2015. and He had played his last season in 2016 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After that, He was unsold for 2017 and 2018 in the IPL auction.


Before Pravin Tambe and Australian Spinner Chris Green, Delhi Batsman Nitish Rana, and Fast Bowler Shivam Mavi were banned due to age fraud. Now four players of Kolkata Knight Riders have out from the tournament before starting the IPL season. Now, Kolkata Knight Riders will face a big problem to find their replacements.

On the other side, Harbhajan Singh has not announced his retirement officially. But, His name was listed in the draft of The Hundred-the new league which will start from July in England. But Harbhajan Singh has taken his name back from the list of the draft because He wants to play for CSK in IPL.
