Every aspiring cricketer has a dream to represent his country in the internationals. Some cricketers get the early call up for national team, ,for others it continues to be a test of patience. Now the same thing is happening with Surya Kumar Yadav. Despite his consistent strong performances in the domestic cricket and Indian Premiere League (IPL 2020) for Mumbai Indians, He was ignored by BCCI for upcoming Australia tour.
After being ignored by Selectors for a spot in the Indian cricket team for Australia tour, He has continously scored runs for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. Now, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma revealed his conversation with Surya Kumar Yadav after he was rejected.
During the conversation with PTI, Rohit Sharma reveals, “We were sitting in our team room and I could feel he was dejected. But I didn’t go and speak to him. It was he who came up and said, ‘Don’t worry I will get over it and win the matches for MI.”
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Team India head coach Ravi Shasti have asked Surya to remain patient. Rohit Sharma also gave the same sentiment statement for Surya Kumar Yadav.
“When he said that I also realised he is heading in the right direction not only in terms of IPL but in his overall career. There are a lot of India games and his time will come. If you ask me, my philosophy is mind over matter and that’s what works for me.” Rohit added.
Surya Kumar Yadav was one of the top performer for MI in IPL 2020. He scored 480 runs in 15 matches. Now, He would have to wait for his maiden call up until at least India’s next series with England.
