Mumbai Indians have clinched their 5th IPL trophy after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final of IPL 2020. Every player from Mumbai Indians have contributed in this winning journey. Trent Boult was one of them who was roped by Mumbai Indians (MI) from Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of IPL 2020 auction. It was the biggest trade in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). And Trent Boult also proved his trade worth in IPL 2020.
Recently, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Tom Moody recalls the incident when Mumbai Indians knocked the doors of SRH for a trade of Afghanistan Spinner Rashid Khan. Although SRH had denied their ridiculous request.
Mumbai Indians wanted Rashid Khan in Trade from SRH: Moody
Talking with EspnCricinfo generalist, Tom Moody said, “I remember them (Mumbai Indians), it may have been 2-years ago, requesting a trade for Rashid Khan.
I mean come on! No other franchise had the gumption or bravado to be able to knock on the door and say look we’d like to get a trade for Rashid Khan – that’s like okay, I’m sure you do so, does the rest of the world.”
Talking about Mumbai Indians’ transfer strategy, Moody said, “What I’ve found through my experience over the last few years in the IPL is that MI is probably one of the most active teams in regards to seeking trade opportunities. They are not afraid to knock on your doors and ask for ridiculous.”
” They keep knocking on the door and if they keep doing that to seven other franchises, they are eventually going to get what they want. It might not be their first option but they’ll definitely get something which will make them whether it be 2% or 5% better, it will make them bette.” He added.
“So they have the ambition and the front to be able to continue to knock on other franchises’ doors and try to get the trades that seem impossible,” He stated.
