Questioning about the innings of Rohit, Kohli, and Dhoni during the run chase against England in World cup 2019, Ben Stokes says, Rohit and Kohli’s batting was mysterious. While MS Dhoni didn’t show that passion. Stokes termed Indian captain Kohli’s complaint of 59m boundary line as ‘frustration’.

India vs England match was played in Birmingham in ICC world cup 2019. In this match, England scored 337 runs and won the match by 31 runs. Recently, Ben Stokes has mentioned about this match in his new book ‘ON FIRE’.

Stokes wrote in his book When Dhoni came out to bat, that time team India needed 112 runs in 11 overs and he did a batting in wicked ways. He could be seen to take singles rather than hitting boundaries. Team India could win the match in the last 12 balls. Stoles said that In the partnership between Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav, there was little or no desire for victory. I think if they would have hit the ball for the boundary, they won the match.

He said, ‘ England dressing room thought Dhoni wanted to take the match in the last overs. He remained unbeaten in this match scoring 42 off 31 balls but most of the runs came in the last over when the match was almost out of India’s hands.’

Stokes said, ‘ we were discussing in the dressing room that this is the way Dhoni plays. If team India didn’t win Even then their net run rate should be maintained.’

England bowlers like Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes strictly bowled to Rohit and Kohli. They only scored 138 runs in 27 overs. Stokes said, ‘ The way Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were playing was like a mystery. I know we bowled very well during this, but the way they were batting, looked absolutely weird.’
