Australia’s limited over captain Aaron Finch said that T20 World can be delayed for the three months. He said that Cricket fans might wait for 3 months more.

On the other side, Former Newzealand captain Bradon Mccullum has also said that the same statement. He said, ” In the condition of the T20 world cup delayed, IPL 2020 should be held.”

Actually, IPL 2020 was about to be started on 29 March but due to the coronavirus pandemic, It has been postponed for the indefinite time. While T20 World Cup 2020 has to play from 18 October to 15 November in Australia. But, Australia has banned all international flights till September.



Brendon McCullum is the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders. He said, ” I think IPL 2020 should play in the October window and the date of the World Cup should be extended.

It means that The date of the Women’s T20 world cup can also extend. We can see the three big tournaments at the same time. women’s T20 world cup has to play in February 2021.

Players don’t matter fans are on the ground or not: Finch

Finch said on Sen Radio, ” I believe we may have to wait a little longer for the T20 World Cup. This tournament may postpone for one, two, or three months. We will watch the live matches very soon.”



“Fans are present or not on the ground, I don’t believe that Players will be affected by this. We have played one match against Newzealand without a crowd. It was awkward for the 4 or 5 overs but after that, all the players were focused on their job.” He added.

Huge loss If IPL doesn’t happen: McCullum

Former NZ captain Brendon McCullum said in Sky cricket Podcast, ” I don’t want that T20 World cup will be held without a crowd. 16 teams would come for the world cup with their support staff and broadcasters. I don’t think so It is going to happen. That’s why Tournament should be held at the starting of 2021.”

“If IPL should not happen then there will be a huge loss to the players and support staff. They won’t get their salaries.” He added.
