Simon Katich reveals why RCB bought Aaron Finch
IPL 2020 is all set to get underway from September 19. Experts have started their analysis regarding different players in the teams and their playing XI. During this, Royal Challengers Bangalore head Coach Simon Katich has revealed that why RCB invested a huge amount on Aaron Finch?
Simon Katich said that RCB was looking for a player who has great experience in international cricket. And they got the right player in the form of Australian T20I and ODIs side captain Aaron Finch.
Aaron Finch has played 61 T20I matches for Australia where he has scored 1989 runs, stands at 3rd position in the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen. RCB have already two great experienced South African players AB devilliers and Dale Steyn.
Katich said, “We were looking for guys at the top of their game in international cricket. Finch was high on that list. As a player and captain, he has done well for Australia. He is a good player of spin and brings leadership in the group.”
RCB have fixed their bowling department as well:
According to the experts, This year, RCB is favourite to win its maiden IPL title in UAE because of RCB’s bowling. Recently, Mike Hesson told that RCB is trying strengthen their bowling department.
Yuzi Chahal also believes that more than 70% of the team’s defeat has come up on account of weak bowling strength in death overs.
In the recent video interaction, Hesson said,
“We were very clear about our death bowling and wanted to make sure we got it covered and went into the auction wanting to fix that.”
“We have got Udana, Morris, Richardson, Steyn. Navdeep Saini has done the job nicely, and our spinners too will play a big part. We got Chahal, who is an exceptional bowler and a nice mix of spinners (Shahbaz Nadeem, Pawan Negi, Moeen Ali). We think we are not so much reliant on our batting and have a balanced unit.”
