The New Zealand team has been undefeated at home in the year 2020 so far. The boxing day test match was a nightmare for the Pakistani bowlers. Pakistan won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand team lost their openers Tom Blundell and Tom Latham even before crossing the 15 run mark.

But New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor saved NZ by adding 120 runs. Ross Taylor scored 70 runs off 151 balls and got dismissed by Shaheen Afridi. Afridi was a successful bowler on day 1 who took 3 wickets for Pakistan.

After Taylor’s wicket, Kane Williamson continued his partnership with Henry Nicholas and added 89 runs for the 4th wicket. NZ finished the day 1 play at 222/3.
